🦾👃 DOA-CW: Smart control and automated sorting of textile waste by odor

Innovative ecosystem based on a robotic manipulator and a thermodynamic multi-gas analyzer. The world’s first pioneering technology for digital odor detection of clothing waste for automatic separation on separators.

🦾👃 DOA-CW: Smart control and automated sorting of textile waste by odor

Product goal: Dramatically reduce the cost of finished recycling products through intelligent automation.

The implementation of the DOA-CW system allows you to optimize the production processes of sorting garbage and secondary textiles (CDW / Clothing Waste) to unprecedented levels:

  • +33.4% — increase in production speed and line throughput.

  • -91% — reduction in waste of valuable textile raw materials.

  • -48% — reduction in water, energy and chemical consumption thanks to precise dry separation without unnecessary cleaning steps.

Where other systems fit, DOA-CW exploits the fundamental thermodynamics of non-equilibrium systems.

How it works: The system performs double calibration with multi-gas gas and odor analyzers, which allows you to increase the measurement accuracy to an incredible 0.01 ppm. All calibration readings for specific odors are recorded directly into the microcontroller’s non-volatile memory, ensuring instant system response on the conveyor.

Unlike traditional equipment and manual labor, digital odor detection technology provides:

  • Full autonomy: The system operates 24/7 without constant monitoring by a human operator.

  • Absolute flexibility: Instantly recognizes for sorting natural textiles (cotton, hemp), synthetics (polyester, nylon), complex polymers, as well as materials heavily contaminated with construction dust or dirt. Each type of material has its own clearly digitized “profile” (smell pattern) on the head of the thermodynamic multi-gas analyzers.

  • Resistance to external dirt: Optical sensors are blinded by dust, while our sensor recognizes the molecular composition of volatile compounds even through a layer of cement.

Today, in the world (in particular in the Netherlands and Sweden), NIR (near infrared) spectroscopy is commonly used for automatic tissue sorting. In Ukraine, such devices (such as the FL NIR 8900 with a range of 780–2500 nm) are being tested in laboratories of Kyiv and Lviv universities and in some factories.

However, the industrial implementation of NIR has significant limitations that are completely eliminated by DOA-CW:

System startup is integrated into current processes without stopping your main production.

Technical requirements for infrastructure:

  • Equipment: Control PC (Windows 11 OS), industrial internet gateway for data transfer, backup power system (UPS).

  • Data ecosystem: Integration of measurements from different points of the separators via the cloud to the company’s specialized SAAS website for continuous monitoring.

  • Important operating condition: Mandatory quality control of the dustiness of the sorting room to ensure reference air intake by sensors.

Staff and deadlines:

  • Team training: 12 operators required (we provide full free training for your staff).

  • Launch time: Only 10 to 22 business days on a turnkey basis.
  • The cost of the basic package (Technical audit + Software + System configuration): from 47,000 €.

  • Monthly support: 2,000 €/month (includes regular updates of digital odor databases, optimization of ML models, and remote engineering consultations).

  • Payback period (ROI): Approximately 12 months solely due to drastic savings on raw materials and optimization of labor costs.

Important Note: The DOA-CW system is a pioneering technology that is now entering the global market. There is currently no direct industrial experience of long-term use in other enterprises, which gives your business a unique opportunity to become the first innovation leader in the niche and receive exclusive launch conditions.

  • Test period: Free pilot run of the system for 14 days on one of your production lines.

  • Warranty: 12 months of full engineering and technical support from developers.

  • Payment terms: Flexible. A 50% prepayment is required, the final payment is due only after signing the acceptance and transfer certificate. Individual payment deferrals are possible.
